My journey to anaesthesia began in the small mining town of Selebi-Phikwe, Botswana, where I was born and raised. Growing up, my father Edward always referred to me as "Doctor," a term of endearment and a dream sent out to the universe. Many years later his prophecy was fulfilled. 

Izelani is an iKalanga word that translates to "Robalang" in Setswana or "Sleep" in English.
